Marketing is one of the most important processes in a business. This is because marketing is a process or activity that is used to introduce or promote a product to customers. There are 2 types of marketing, namely direct and indirect marketing. Both of these types have different important roles. Here are the differences between direct marketing and indirect marketing.
Direct marketing is a method used to promote products or services by communicating directly to customers. Therefore, the main purpose of direct marketing is to make customers buy or use the products and services offered by the company. With this direct communication, the marketing division must be able to persuade and convince potential customers to buy and use what they offer. The types of direct marketing that can be used are telemarketing, email roll marketing, direct mail, social media marketing, and personal selling. Meanwhile, indirect marketing is the way most often used by companies to introduce products and services through various media, both print media, websites and blogs, and press conferences held by the public relations division. In addition to promoting, indirect marketing also aims to make the products and services offered highly remembered by the public. This is because the products and services they offer are in the form of advertisements that are broadcast repeatedly in various media such as newspapers, television, radio, and websites. By repeating the ad, the public will easily remember and get to know the products and services offered.
The Target Market
Although they have the same goal of promoting a product or service direct marketing and indirect marketing have different target markets. Direct marketing is an offer that is done directly therefore, the promoters already know the target market such as what is by following the product. Therefore, this direct marketing target market will be more precise and the promoters do not need to analyze it further because they offer it by communicating directly. This is inversely proportional to indirect marketing. Because the promotion is indirect, only through advertisements in various media, the indirect market target market is usually not appropriate.
Direct marketing is considered the most cost-effective way. This is because the promoters communicate with customers whether they meet directly or communicate via email. Whereas, indirect marketing requires large enough costs to make advertisements in several prints and mass media. In addition, ads that are made are not just run once, but repeatedly.
That's the difference between direct marketing and indirect marketing. Despite their differences, these two types of marketing have the same and important role as tools or media for communication with customers. In addition, direct and indirect marketing is also used to provide complete information about a product.
